Since 2008, the Red Train of the Bernina Express has boasted UNESCO world-heritage status. Departing from Tirano in Italy, it winds its way into the Bernina range, taking in the magnificent scenery of the Swiss Alps.
We couldn’t help but wonder: can we tackle the same route by bike? And from that curiosity came a day in which both cycling and scenery took the breath away. Passing Brusio’s spiral viaduct, skirting the Lago di Poschiavo shores, up to the Bernina pass (2230 m or 7300 feet above sea level) and the Lago Bianco. The stylish UYN Alpha Biking range (in red, of course) pairs perfectly with this backdrop, layering beauty upon beauty.
