The World Cup may have only finished two months ago, but the top teams are already thinking ahead to next season. The German and Austrian alpine skiing champions have begun their first training sessions. And the high-performance UYN kit that saw them right through winter (our Natyon base layers and socks) will also come to their aid in summer.
Rebensburg and Co. in Lake Garda
For their first block of hard work, the German national women’s team has chosen Italy as their destination. The star Viktoria Rebensburg and her teammates (Marina Wallner, Marlene Schmotz, Veronique Hronek, Jessica Hilzinger and Patrizia Dorsch) trained in the area south of Lake Garda from Wednesday 8 to Monday 13 May. Their programme included work in the gym, and exciting climbs and long days out on the bike, all the while wearing the UYN Alpha Biking kit.
This allowed the athletes to try on the quality of UYN cycling kit: the revolutionary hybrid shorts (the first to combine Lycra with seamless fabric, for unrivalled comfort), the short sleeve shirt (aerodynamic and ultra breathable, thanks to the innovative 3D fabric structure), and the Light socks (designed specifically for cyclists).
“Next year there are Crystal Globes to be won”
For Viktoria Rebensburg - silver medallist at the Åre 2019 World Ski Championships and Olympic Queen in 2010 - this was a chance to tell UYN all about her goals next season. “After the recent competitions, I took some time off for a holiday in the islands of Mauritius. Now, I’ve begun training again and I’m very determined. This was my first time in this area south of Lake Garda. It’s an incredible place and I’ve really enjoyed it.
In August, I’ll go back to skiing and in October the first competitions will already be starting,” the German champion explained. “My goals? There’s no World Championships or Olympics next season, but there are so many things to be won in the World Cup. Especially those beautiful Crystal Globes... it’s a big goal, it takes consistent performances from the first to the last competition, but that is definitely what I’m working towards.”
German men’s team cycling in Cyprus with Alpha Biking
It’s training time for the German men’s team too, who found themselves in Cyprus. Here, too, UYN has supported Josef Ferstl and his teammates’ performance on the bike, with the high-performance Alpha Biking jersey and shorts.
Austrian sprinters don UYN jerseys and shorts
The unmistakeable look of the Alpha Biking kit has taken the Tuscan streets by storm, worn by the Austrian national ski team. This group of sprinters, led by Olympic champion Matthias Mayer, wore the high-performance UYN shirt, shorts and socks as they went out on the bikes around Castiglione della Pescaia in the Grosseto Province.
From descending the snowy slopes to asphalt climbs, UYN kit has proved itself the perfect kit for champions.
