Alpine Ski World Championships: title favourites ski with UYN®

The Alpine World Championships in Åre, Sweden, from 5 to 17 February are the highlight of the World Cup season again this year. UYN – Unleash Your Nature is a proud supplier of the world's top seven national alpine ski teams. The UYN athletes are in great shape and are going into the eleven competitions at this World Cup as title favourites.

Around 600 athletes from more than 65 countries are expected to compete for the medals in the six disciplines in Sweden's oldest ski resort in February. The ski resort of Åre will then be the meeting place for the skiing scene’s celebrities and more than a hundred thousand spectators. Åre will host the World Ski Championships for the third time in 2019, following 1954 and 2007.

With more than 60 podium finishes, our men have achieved an outstanding World Cup season so far – a UYNNER was on the top step of the podium in 25 out of 27 races. The secret to their success: Our Alpinestars rely on our highly innovative baselayers from our NATYON collection, which was developed in collaboration with professionals and optimized especially for their needs. The collection is available in store or within 48 hours in our webshop.

In the overall World Cup there are currently no less than eight athletes from our ski teams from Austria, Norway, France and Italy in the Top 10 after 27 races for the men. The podium consists exclusively of UYN athletes: first place goes to the world's best ski racer Marcel Hirscher, followed by Henrik Kristoffersen (Norway) and Alexis Pinturault (France). The women achieved during this world cup ten World Cup victories and 37 podium finishes.

We interviewed our athletes from Austria, Italy and Germany exclusively for the World Championships. You can also watch the videos also on our Instagram channel.
The Ski World Championships starts with the Opening Ceremony on Monday, 4 February 2019. In the first World Cup week, the athletes compete in the Super-G, the Alpine combination and downhill. The team event, the giant slalom and slalom competitions are taking place in the second World Cup week. The Ski World Championships end with the men's slalom on 17th February.
